The final days of summer – New Poem

Emerged from darkened shadows

Weary eyes look skyward

Paleness of flesh scorched

Calmed to Adonis bronze

Laughter turns to echoes

Alas these days they are not infinite

These moments will fuel long winter nights

The winds change in direction

Harsh symphony orchestrated by the trees

The warmth replaced by coolness

Thoughts race through the mind

Fiery splash on darkened canvass

Silhouette of silence forms no shadow

Memories forged into unbreakable bonds

Endless days entwine with bright nights

A summer of salvation

Remedies the night
